concert at Holly Park

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

Construction work for the new storm drain in the Star Drive/Sleigh Bell area is currently underway.  Please be aware of workers and heavy equipment around the road ways.  Each of the above roads will need to be cut and excavated at some point before the project is complete which will create an "around the block" detour.  We appreciate your patience during the construction period.

Holly Park Concert Series Draws Large Crowds

If you missed the first three concerts in Holly Park this summer, you have been missing a rocking good time!

“I think it’s the most exciting thing!” said CLV resident Carol Burnette.

“This is a great way to bring neighbors together,” said Christmas Lake Village Board President Don Vogel. He said it was great to see people coming together and enjoying each other.

CLV resident Mary Sue Johnson commented, “I’ve talked to people I’ve never talked to before.” Johnson also said the concerts were a great event to take visiting family or friends to.

On June 23rd CLV’s Evening in Holly Park series kicked off with jazz music from local group Fine Wine. The easy sounds of jazz echoed throughout Holly Park while over 200 people listened and spent time with friends and neighbors. Some villagers came prepared, bringing cheese, meat and vegetable platters and sharing their own bottles of fine wine.

The second concert was held July 28th and the classic rock band, Freestyle cranked up the volume and rocked the evening away with classic oldies from the 70’s and 80’s. Over 250 people came out to enjoy the show. Many people joined in, like board member Keith Blair and his wife Barbara, and helped belt out some of the evening’s tunes.

The third concert in CLV’s Evening in Holly Park series took place August 25th at 6 p.m. Local band, Midstreem entertained villagers with sounds of Bluegrass.

“The concerts have been very well attended and the people are very enthusiastic,” commented Property Manager Mark Kroeger.

The September concert date and time is yet to be determined but a special event is planned to close out the concert series.

Watch the front gate marquee and web site for the upcoming September concert. Don’t miss this fun evening and a chance to get to know some of your neighbors!

Holiday World Grows Park With Thanksgiving Section

Holiday World will be adding a new holiday themed section for 2006.

The Thanksgiving themed section will include a new world class wooden roller coaster that promises riders a feeling of weightlessness for 24.2 seconds. The Voyage will be 1.2 miles long making it one of the world’s top three longest and fastest roller coasters.

The new section will also include two new rides, a large restaurant and new games. The Voyage will thrill riders starting May 6, 2006, Holiday World’s opening day of its 60th anniversary season.

Splashin’ Safari Water Park will also add the Bahari River for 2006.

CLV Garage Sale

The village will soon become a treasure trove for bargain seekers. Many different items such as cars and boats to the smallest trinkets such as collectible thimbles will be for sale in CLV.

CLV’s annual garage sale will take place September 17th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Holly Park will be the only location for bathrooms and food. The Santa Claus Optimist Club will be selling breakfast and lunch items from the park.

Co-organizer Jodi Patmore said maps marking each participating home and highlighting some items for sale will be available at the gate house.

“I’m hopeful there are as many homes as there have been in the past,” said Patmore. “I have already heard from several people who are excited and wanting to participate.” Patmore is organizing the sale with Amy Busler.
